The Department of Justice is conducting an investigation into whether or not Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has used his office for personal gain, according to a Tuesday CNN report.

The latest move comes after the Interior Department’s Inspector General turned over the investigation to the DOJ, as first reported Tuesday by the Washington Post.

Though a Zinke spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment, Zinke told CNN that the DOJ has not contacted him.

“They haven’t talked to me,” he told CNN. “It will be the same thing as all the other investigations. I follow all rules, procedures, regulations and most importantly the law. This is another politically driven investigation that has no merit.”

In recent weeks, Zinke was reportedly found by the DOI IG to have violated the department’s travel policy. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg: there’s a good rundown of the many investigations targeting Zinke here.
