Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) said during a press conference on Tuesday night that a group of people had held a “coronavirus party,” after which at least one person tested positive for COVID-19.
“We are battling for the health and even the lives of our parents and our grandparents,” Beshear said. “And don’t be so callous as to intentionally go to something and expose yourself to something that can kill other people.”
“We ought to be much better than that,” he added.
The governor said that the such a gathering “makes me mad, and it should make you mad.”
“And ultimately, the power of forgiveness, we’ll get through this,” he continued. “We should forgive that person. But no more of these anywhere statewide ever for any reason.”
