Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) offered Republicans’ strongest rebuke yet of the Saudi Crown prince and his involvement in the death of Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi after a briefing on the murder from CIA Director Gina Haspel on Tuesday.
“Let me just put it this way. If the crown prince went in front of a jury, he would be convicted in 30 minutes,” he told reporters after the briefing.
“Of murder?” a reporter asked.
“Yes,” he said.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) offered a similar condemnation of kingdom leadership after the briefing on Tuesday, suggesting that Trump cabinet officials were waffling on Mohammed bin Salman’s involvement in the murder because the Trump administration “doesn’t want to go down that road” of suggesting bin Salman is complicit in the murder.
"If the crown prince went in front of a jury, he would be convicted in 30 minutes,” GOP Sen. @BobCorker says after CIA Director Gina Haspel's briefing on the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.
