Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said Wednesday that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “continues to do the President’s bidding” by refusing to allow a vote on a bill to protect special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
Coons and several other senators have pushed hard to get their bill, which was approved by the Judiciary Committee with bipartisan support, to the floor of the Senate for a chamber-wide vote. McConnell, though, has said for months that there’s no need for the measure. On Tuesday, he said he would “probably would” block the bill from receiving a vote.
“I think, frankly, at the end of the day, Leader McConnell has gotten reassurances from the President that he won’t act against Mueller, but those assurances are undermined every single day,” Coons said on MSNBC. Asked if he thought McConnell was protecting Trump, Coons said “yes.”
He added: “I’m puzzled by why the majority leader continues to do the President’s bidding on this.”

Is it the turtle just being his usual asshole self or does Trump have something on him?

Coons: McConnell ‘Continues To Do The President’s Bidding’ By Blocking Mueller Bill
[/quote]McConnell still needs Trump to destroy our Constitution.
No need to be disingenuous senator. You know better, and being polite is a waste of breath. Looking for bipartisanship from McConnell is like expecting honesty from Donald Trump. Not. Going. To. Happen.
McConnell doesn’t give a flying fuck about anything but his own power within the Senate.
And he knows damned well that maintaining and increasing that power requires keeping Trump and all his supporters happy.
So there’s nothing – nothing – McConnell won’t do toward those ends.
The turtle knows his power comes from the base of the GOP, which still eagerly supports Trump no matter what.
