Conway On Immigrants: ‘If You Care About The Children’ You’d Agree With Trump

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway did some major spinning Monday night, saying that “if you care about” migrant children, “you’d agree with President Donald Trump that they should not take this perilous trek in the first place.”

“If you really care about them, as the Democrats and many news media claim they do, you would deter them from taking this perilous track in the first place,” she added to Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

Her spin seems to be an attempt to distract from the two immigrant children who recently died in U.S. custody.

  1. When this MalAdministration is finally behind us (and, regardless how it feels now, it will be, sooner or later), I am not sure who I will be most happy to see banished (after Individual-1, of course): KellyAnne ConJob, Sarah Huckster-Slanders, or Rudy Ghouliani.

They all make me grind my teeth and want to vomit.

Any appearance of a spokes-liar for this administration seems like a fallacy textbook has come to life and is speaking.

Oh, K.Conway is lying again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Why is this news?

  4. This is one of those crazy statements that has a kernel of fact, but completely out of context. It’s absolutely true that the Administration has imposed an inhumane situation for children (and their families) at the border. My daughter just returned from a week in Tijuana assisting asylum seekers. Because anyone stepping foot onto US soil is entitled to claim asylum, the Mexican gov’t has cooperated with the Administration to prevent people from crossing the border. Thus, the mobs of people in Tijuana waiting to be among the 200 per day allowed to cross. Once they do cross, they are stripped of their belongings (except for the clothes on their back) and confined to a detention facility called “the ice box” because the US has turned off the heat. Thus, the children lying on concrete floors with only an aluminum sheet and getting sick.

That situation is a human rights violation, and if Conway intended to say that something has to be done to alleviate it, she’s right. What that has to do with agreeing with Trump about his stupid wall, which has nothing whatever to do with any of this, is a mystery.
