Stephen Colbert defended conservative Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser on Wednesday night for Prosser’s comment that Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson was, “a total bitch.”
“Judge Prosser has a sterling reputation,” Colbert said, “tarsnished only by the things he has said and done.”
Prosser, who appears to have lost his reelection bid in a hard-fought contest on Tuesday, took a lot of criticism for that comment. Prosser did apologize for that comment, but he also said that he thought it was “entirely warranted.”
“He regrets calling her a bitch,” Colbert said. “But on the other hand, she was being a total bitch.”
