Yesterday at the White House’s St. Patrick’s Day reception, Vice President Joe Biden prompted laughter from the crowd when he suggested that the Irish Prime Minister’s mother had passed away. She has not.
Turning to PM Brian Cowen, Biden said,
His mom lived in Long Island for 10 years or so, God rest her soul, although she’s still — wait, your mom’s still alive, it’s your dad passed. God bless her soul. I got to get this straight.
