Mississippi Governor and former RNC Chairman Haley Barbour appeared on CNN last night and didn’t sound too concerned about how the current crisis surrounding RNC Chairman Michael Steele would affect the party’s midterm election prospects.
“Does the party need a fresh start?” Barbour told John King. “No.”
Barbour declined to rate Steele’s job performance. In response to donors pulling out after reports of RNC spending at a bondage-themed nightclub, Barbour said the party, and particularly governors, would simply have to make due.
“We will be prepared if the fundraising for the RNC doesn’t go as well as hoped,” Barbour told host John King.
