Former Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos was released from prison Friday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed.

He is planning to join his wife, Simona, at a conference in D.C. this weekend, at which she will be speaking, CNN reported.

Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation to lying to the FBI about his Russia-related communications during the 2016 campaign. He sought to delay his incarceration, citing the unrelated challenge being heard by an appeals court to Mueller’s authority, but was unsuccessful.
