Billionaire oligarch Jeff Bezos’s private investigation into how his raunchy private texts with his mistress Lauren Sanchez got leaked to the National Enquirer has led the Washington Post owner into familiar political waters: Trumpworld.

Specifically, the Daily Beast reports that the investigation has homed in on Michael Sanchez, the brother of Bezos’s mistress and an associate of both Roger Stone and Carter Page.

The Daily Beast report follows on that of British gossip site Popbitch, which broke the story of Michael Sanchez’s alleged involvement in a story titled “The Bezos Pecker Problem.”

Popbitch and other observers have noted that National Enquirer chief exec David Pecker copped to using his tabloid to pay off an alleged Trump mistress before the 2016 election, getting immunity while sending Michael Cohen behind bars.

Bezos’ investigator is looking at whether the National Enquirer story that laid Bezos’s sexts bare was politically motivated, and how Michael Sanchez — a Twitter supporter of the president — may have been involved, per the Daily Beast. The investigator, Gavin de Becker, confirmed to the Daily Beast that he has spoken with Michael Sanchez.

Stone purportedly denied to the Daily Beast that he had hacked Bezos’ phone, without being asked whether that had happened.
