A Florida woman accidentally shot herself in the leg Sunday during a marksmanship competition, Orlando TV station WESH reported.

Siegried Betterly, 40, was participating in a timed shooting contest at Volusia County Gun and Hunt Club, according to WESH. Volusia County Sherriff spokesman Gary Davidson said Betterly was putting her handgun into its holster when she accidentally touched the trigger, causing a bullet to hit her in the leg.

Betterly was taken to a local medical center with non-life threatening injuries, Davidson said.
