Windows 8, Microsoft’s risky new tablet-friendly overhaul of its signature product, has been downloaded 1 million times since it became available as a preview version on Wednesday, the Windows 8 build team tweeted on Thursday. In the words of Vlad Savov at the Verge: “We’d say this qualifies as a thoroughly well received launch.”
