A new mystery has emerged in the tablet and e-reader business: Target’s website has taken down all Amazon Kindle devices for sale, and technology blog The Verge has obtained what it says is an authentic target memo announcing that target will stop carrying the popular e-readers and tablet in its physical retail outlets as well, following the week of May 13 (Mother’s Day). A source close to Target tells the Verge the company will stop selling Kindle devices due to a “conflict of interest,” though it is unclear exactly what this means. TPM has contacted Target and Amazon about the sudden change and will update when we receive a response.
