Isn’t the standard protocol for calls between leaders to involve aides making the contact, making sure everything is ready and then putting the big cheeses on?
There’s that fine-tuned machine again. Fine tuned, yes, but balanced with a certain creative spark that inspires a lot of half-assed improvisation and pratfalls on really basic stuff. It’s like nobody there realizes, or aren’t allowed by the boss to put into practice, the standard thing where you rehearse, you double check, you run through things a half-hour before, you do what needs to be done so you know everything will go smoothly. This seems to be beyond Trump’s ken.
