Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner in the spring of last year proposed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton take his place at the Treasury, according to the Washington Post. The Post reports that the talks gained traction in the White House, but were ultimately scuttled before the debt-ceiling debate in Washington.
