Sheila Foster Anthony, the sister of the late Vince Foster, has condemned recent speculations by Trump that the Clintons were involved in Foster’s death

“How wrong. How irresponsible. How cruel,” she wrote in a Washington Post op-ed Thursday.

Earlier this week Trump revived the conspiracy that Foster –a White House aide whose 1993 death was ruled suicide by numerous investigations — may have actually been murdered, telling the Washington Post the circumstances were “very fishy.’

“He had intimate knowledge of what was going on,” Trump told the Post.

In her op-ed, Anthony recounted the lead-up to Foster’s death, during which she said he was very depressed and contemplating seeking psychiatric help. Anthony worked for the Justice Department at the time. She and Foster lived together in Washington when he started his White House gig, before he moved into a separate home with his family, who had moved up from Arkansas. She said Foster called her a few days before his death, and told her he wanted to seek therapy but feared it might cost him his job.

“I did not see a suicide coming, yet when I was told that Vince was dead I knew that he had killed himself. Never for a minute have I doubted that was what happened,” Anthony wrote. After her job at the Department of Justice as assistant attorney general for legislative affairs, she went on to serve on the Federal Trade Commission, where she worked from 1997 to 2003.

In the op-ed, she called the suggestions that the Clintons were involved in her brothers death “outrageous” and said the rumors “have caused our family untold pain.”

“This is scurrilous enough coming from right-wing political operatives who have peddled conspiracy theories about Vince’s death for more than two decades. How could this be coming from the presumptive Republican nominee for president?” she wrote.
