Syrian and United Nations officials have reached an agreement governing UN observers in the country. The international monitoring team is in Syria overseeing a shaky ceasefire that has been in place for a little over a week. A Spokesman for former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, who negotiated the ceasefire, said the agreement detailed the responsibilities of both Syrian and officials and UN observers.
