What happens when a party’s nominee is a veteran of a hit reality television show? The convention that coronates him is flashier — or at least that’s what Donald Trump’s campaign is promising.
Asked by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Tuesday about Trump’s plans for the GOP convention in Cleveland, top advisor Paul Manafort promised that the former “Apprentice” star would ensure an “an exciting convention.”
“This is the ultimate reality show. It’s the presidency of the United States,” he said.
“It will be a program where we will be talking to America about not just Donald Trump but the Republican Party,” he continued. “We’ll put it in ways that we hope will be entertaining, but more important, informative.”
