CBS announced Monday that Stephen Colbert will make his debut as the host of “Late Show” on Sept. 8.
The network had previously announced that retiring host David Letterman’s last show would be May 20.
Colbert took his leave from Comedy Central back in December in a mind-bogglingly star-studded final episode of “The Colbert Report.” He gave a nod to fans’ long wait for his next venture in a press release.
“I have nine months to make a show, just like a baby. So first, I should find out how you make a baby,” Colbert said.
If Letterman is signing off in May, what is CBS going to show over the summer? NCIS reruns?
Bill O’Reilly, (ORACLE), predicted that Colbert’s show would fail. Since Bill is a well known ASSHOLE,
I guess it will, NOT!
I’m going to miss the Stephen Colbert persona. Brilliant satire, no one else does anything quite like it. I feel as though he was providing a public service. Smart comedy, informative, and genuinely patriotic (in the good sense of the word).
