The staffer for Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA) who was accused of leaking video of the congressman kissing a woman who wasn’t his wife has resigned, the Monroe News-Star reported Wednesday.

Adam Terry, McAllister’s chief of staff, confirmed to the newspaper that Leah Gordon, the congressman’s Monroe district office manager, resigned of her own accord and was not fired.

“We won’t terminate or discipline any employee until after our internal investigation of the security breach is complete,” Terry said, as quoted by the News-Star. “(Gordon) resigned on her own.”

A local pastor previously accused Gordon of leaking the surveillance video, which shows McAllister kissing a staffer in December at the Monroe district office. That staffer, Melissa Peacock, has since been taken off the payroll.

Terry told the News-Star at the time that Gordon was one of just three people who had access to the footage.

McAllister plans to return to Washington after the Easter recess, despite calls for his resignation from prominent Louisiana Republicans like Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and the chair of the state Republican party.
