The Senate Judiciary Committee approved a bill, introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), on Thursday that would reinstate a federal ban on assault weapons by a party line vote, 10 – 8.
The legislation now moves to the full Senate, where it is likely to fail due to a recalcitrant opposition.
