Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown (R) is set to air his first TV ad Monday after formally announcing his challenge to New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D), and his pickup truck once again plays a starring role in the spot.

“Scott Brown has almost 300,000 miles on this truck,” the ad’s narrator says. “Over the last few weeks, it’s taken him all across New Hampshire, listening, learning.”

Over clips of Brown talking to New Hampshire residents against snowy backdrops and in restaurant dining rooms, the ad’s narrator says Brown heard that Granite Staters want a better health care system and more job opportunities.

“Isn’t it time that someone took their side?” the narrator says as a man chimes in “Go get ’em, Scott!”

The ad will air on New Hampshire TV station WMUR beginning Monday, according to the Boston Globe.

Driving a pickup truck was part of the “everyman” appeal that helped Brown defeat Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in the race to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2010. Brown’s truck also featured prominently in a campaign ad for that race.
