Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has moved up a spot in the Gallup tracking poll of the Republican primary. Santorum has been mired in sixth place since businessman Herman Cain left the race, but he’s now passed Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), with 6 percent of the national vote as his campaign has gained steam in Iowa.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is first with 24 percent, followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 23 and Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) with 13. Texas Gov. Rick Perry gets 7 percent for fourth place.
