Romney: I Can Say ‘With Confidence And Gratitude’ I’ll Be Nominee

In his first primary night speech since Rick Santorum dropped out, Mitt Romney finally seized the mantle of presumptive nominee. 

“Tonight, I can also say ‘Thank you, America,’ because after 43 primaries and caucuses, many long days, and more than a few long nights, I can say with confidence and gratitude that you have given me a great honor and solemn responsibility and together we are going to win on November 6,” Romney said. 

Romney said that his message to sturggling Americans was to “hold on a little longer, a better America begins tonight.”
