After declaring his support for same-sex marriage last week, President Obama called eight African-American ministers to explain his decision, the New York Times reports. Obama also reached out to at least one of the five spiritual leaders he calls regularly for religious guidance and the president’s aides also reached out to other supportive religious figures, according to the report.
