Presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said during an appearance on Fox News on Thursday that he thought fellow presidential candidate Donald Trump should sign the Republican National Committee’s loyalty pledge.

Paul also affirmed his support for the eventual GOP nominee if he isn’t chosen.

The loyalty pledge says a candidate will endorse the eventual GOP nominee and will not run as a third-party candidate.

During an interview on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Thursday, Paul said he will sign the pledge. Earlier in the program, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed the pledge live on the set.

“Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton and Donald Trump could give us Hillary Clinton,” Paul said.

Paul, who said he wasn’t against third parties, said the Republican candidates needed to be “pulling together as a team.”

“I do believe you have to support the nominee,” Paul said. “It’s about pulling together as a team. It doesn’t mean I’ll be happy with the nominee.”

  1. Bobby Jindal has committed to signing the pledge and then building a wall around it.

  2. Don’t strain yourself too hard, Senator Paul. After all, you don’t have enough synapses left to make all those delicate motions. Case in point, while it is true that treating substance abuse is helpful and better than incarceration, putting people to work will not stop them from abusing opiates. Just walk on down to a Wall Street party sometime and find out how many of them are doing drugs.

Okay, that’s slightly unfair…people being able to work does cut down on the abuse of drugs, but his logic is still flawed on that front.

  3. Sez guy who really isn’t a Republican but can’t run as a Libertarian because….derp.

  4. Trump has committed to tap dancing on it…
