Former Gov. Tommy Thompson leads the Wisconsin Senate race over Democratic Rep. Tammy Baldwin, according to two surveys.
Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling shows Thompson leading 49 percent to 44 percent. The survey of 1,308 likely voters was conducted Aug. 16-19, and has a 2.7 percent margin of error.
Marquette Law School shows Thompson with 50 percent, compared with 41 percent for Baldwin. The survey of 576 likely voters was also conducted Aug. 16-19, and has a 4.2 percent margin of error.
The PollTracker Average currently shows Thompson leading 51.4 percent to 42.6 percent.
