Republican running mate Mike Pence said in a Sunday interview that Donald Trump will accept the results of the presidential election on Tuesday if there is “a clear outcome.”

“The campaign’s made it very clear,” Pence said to “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace. “A clear outcome, obviously both sides will accept.”

Pence left open the possibility of disputing a close race, however.

“I think both campaigns have also been very clear that in the event of disputed results, they reserve all legal rights and remedies,” he said.

Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the election will somehow be “rigged” against him. During the final presidential debate in October, he refused to commit to accepting the results of the election, saying that he would instead keep voters “in suspense.”
