Over $80 million was spent on campaigning in the Wisconsin gubernatorial recall, according to a new report from a watchdog group. Republicans vastly outspent Democrats more than 2.5-to-1.
Gov. Scott Walker, plus Republican groups and allies, spent $58.7 million on the recall — including $36.1 million spent by Walker’s campaign alone — compared with $22 million spent by all the Democratic candidates and their allied groups, according to the report by the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.
