Television personality and billionaire mogul Oprah Winfrey is reportedly considering a bid to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers if owner Donald Sterling is forced to sell the team following his racist comments.

ESPN reported Wednesday that Winfrey may team up with entertainment mogul David Geffen and Oracle Corp. CEO Larry Ellison to purchase the franchise.

Winfrey forcefully rebuked Sterling on Tuesday, condemning the owner’s “plantation mentality.”

The NBA imposed a lifetime ban on Sterling after a recording of him making racist remarks touched off a maelstrom of criticism. NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he will urge the league’s Board of Governors to force Sterling to sell the team.

  1. Well, that’s an interesting team. Geffen, Oprah, and Ellison.

Combined, they have a net worth of around 60 Billion dollars.

  2. Now wait, didn’t Magic set this whole thing up so he could buy the Clippers? I’m so confused now.

  3. Maybe…OPRAH PUT HIM UP TO IT!!!

    Quick…to the ConspiracyMobile!

  4. Oh now that’s just delicious! Can you imagine Sterling’s horror if his beloved team went to someone who is not only black but a woman? It may actually kill him.

  5. A powerful black woman as well, not a perceived sex toy for hire.

Of course, I’m sure 700 million to 1 billion dollars will be enough to wipe his tears with.

But still, the irony would be tasty.
