Stressing Congress’ responsibility to raise the debt ceiling, President Obama said at a news conference Monday that there is no work-around if Republicans decide not to pay the nation’s bills.
“There are no magic tricks here, there are no loopholes,” he said, referring to talk about minting a $1 trillion coin or using the Fourteenth Amendment to raise the debt limit. “There are no easy outs.”
