Obama Ad: Romney’s Tax Plan A ‘Middle Class Tax Increase’

The Obama campaign didn’t skip a beat after the release of a nonpartisan study showing Mitt Romney’s tax plan would raise taxes on everyone but the top five percent on Wednesday. Thursday morning, they released a new ad slamming Romney’s tax plan as Romney’s “middle class tax increase.”

The ad begins with the information we know about Romney’s own personal taxes: that he raised over $20 million in 2010 and paid 13.9 percent in taxes. “You work hard, stretch every penny. But chances are, you pay a higher tax rate than him,” says a narrator, flashing to a picture of the Republican nominee. “Now he has a plan that would give millionaires another tax break, and raises taxes on middle class families by up to $2,000 a year.”

“Mitt Romney’s middle class tax increase: He pays less, you pay more,” the wraps up the ad.

The campaign didn’t initially indicate the size of the ad buy or which states it would be running in.

Watch:

Update: The ad will air in New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada.
