The number of people injured in last week’s deadly Boston Marathon bombings has spiked from an initial estimate of 170 to 282, the Boston Globe reported.
Nick Martin, spokesman for the Boston health commission, told the Globe that the number climbed after several victims belatedly sought medical treatment for minor injuries they initially assumed would go away on their own.
Despite the rise in the injury toll, only two victims are still in critical condition. Doctors said Monday that all of those who were injured in the marathon bombings are likely to survive.
