Sen. John McCain said that Rep. Todd Akin’s comments about rape and pregnancy are a problem for the Republican Party in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, via the Washington Post. “It’s a problem. There is no doubt about that,” McCain said on the impact of his comments on the Romney-Ryan ticket.
“Mr. Akin should recognize having the nomination of your party is a privilege and if you abuse that then you are not eligible to keep it. What he said was unacceptable,” McCain said.
