One student was injured Tuesday afternoon in a shooting at Fern Creek High School in Louisville, Ky.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Phil Russell said in a news conference that the department received a report of a shooting at Fern Creek just after 1 p.m. ET. Officers found one victim, a student, with non-life threatening injuries who was then transported to a local hospital, Russell said.
Police believe there was only one shooter involved who immediately fled the scene after the shooting, Russell added. Police also believe the incident was isolated.
Russell said that police were actively searching for the shooter but could offer no further details.
School shootings are pretty much isolated to the US.
