Wilmore Burns Justice Thomas: ‘Approach The Bench, And Jump Off It’ (VIDEO)

After a high-octane intro featuring the New York City Gay Men’s chorus, Larry Wilmore celebrated the Supreme Court’s legalization of same sex marriage by christening the day “Big Gay Monday.”

But after confetti came down on the set, the host of “The Nightly Show” still had a job to do, so he turned to the reaction of “haters” to the historic ruling.

His favorite of the lot was Justice Clarence Thomas, whose dissent argued that gay people who are denied marriage do not suffer any more than American slaves, who “did not lose their dignity” simply because “the government allowed them to be enslaved.”

“Do you even know what slavery is?” Wilmore said. “Slavery is the complete stripping of humanity and dignity! That’s the point of slavery!”

“Clarence, please approach the bench, and jump off of it,” he added.

  1. Wilmore was brutal last night…and honestly, it’s time for Thomas and Scalia to resign. They obviously do not take the job seriously enough to offer up a real defense for their positions, and that means it is time to go.

  2. In The Donald’s defense, being married three times is supported by the Bible. It’s just that marriages were usually served concurrently.

Justice Thomas is like that horrible tenured professor who is drunk and/or wrong and/or delusional all of the time - and virtually nothing can be done about him.

  4. I love this guy. He said what most of us feel - me for sure,

  5. Larry Wilmore has proven to be just as snappy as a whip and sharp as a tack as Jon Stewart. Comedy Central has some great shows. For me, Wilmore is premiere.
