After a high-octane intro featuring the New York City Gay Men’s chorus, Larry Wilmore celebrated the Supreme Court’s legalization of same sex marriage by christening the day “Big Gay Monday.”

But after confetti came down on the set, the host of “The Nightly Show” still had a job to do, so he turned to the reaction of “haters” to the historic ruling.

His favorite of the lot was Justice Clarence Thomas, whose dissent argued that gay people who are denied marriage do not suffer any more than American slaves, who “did not lose their dignity” simply because “the government allowed them to be enslaved.”

“Do you even know what slavery is?” Wilmore said. “Slavery is the complete stripping of humanity and dignity! That’s the point of slavery!”

“Clarence, please approach the bench, and jump off of it,” he added.
