Afghan President Hamid Karzai has called photos of US troops posing with the severed corpses of Taliban fighters “disgusting.” Karziai used the photos’ release to push for a speedier transition of security responsibilities from NATO to Afghan forces. President Obama has urged that the photos be investigated and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has delivered several apologies.
