If that “date-rapist of media barons” Rupert Murdoch has his way with Time Warner, as Jon Stewart put it, the communications company would have to sell off Fox News’ competitor CNN. And Stewart wants to be ready to pounce when the network comes up for sale at a cool $10 billion.
The comedian announced his “Let’s Buy CNN” Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday’s “The Daily Show,” asking viewers to pledge however much they want to help him raise the funds.
“This $10 billion, all-cash bid for CNN would secure control of a massive television network reaching over 100 million homes in the US alone, which we could then use to rebuild a news organization befitting this proud land,” the faux-Kickstarter’s website reads. “Or more likely we’d use it to make a lot more poop jokes. Either way, you get to watch!”
The rewards are pretty enticing, too: a $15,000 pledge buys “You in a Carol Costello 2 box with 5 minutes of freestyling,” while a $5 million pledge earns a “24 hour 2 week hunt for your lost car keys.”

I am sure he thinks it is a joke, but why not? Why should conservative billionaires own all the information channels.
Looking at the options, I see a ‘Hunger Games’ option featuring Wolfie Blitzer. I for one would gladly pay good money to take my hunting bow into that episode. Bagging Wolfie Blitzer would only improve the quality of TV journalism by a few zillion percent, in one fell swoop.
$10 gets you a Richard Quest sex date…BYO rope and meth.
I have to admit it is food for thought.
People still get their news from Cable news stations? No one I know watches CNN. I don’t even have a bookmark for their website. Fox has viewers, but that demographic will have cable forever. Young people…not so much.
