Jon Stewart came back on air just as Congress returned for session, and the “Daily Show” host was fresh with complaints about Capitol Hill on Tuesday night.
Stewart had trouble getting over the fact that lawmakers didn’t have to return to the Capitol until Tuesday of this week, and even then, not until noon.
“Why not just serve them legislation in bed, for God’s sake,” the host said.
Stewart pointed out that despite its 14 percent approval rating, Congress still retains an impressive incumbency rate of roughly 95 percent.
“It’s the same disapproval-to-recurrence ratio currently enjoyed by the herpes virus,” Stewart said.
The host turned to the camera, mugging for a mock advertisement: “Herpes: It’s like Congress, on your dick.”
