Before “The Daily Show” dove into any of the midterm results on Tuesday night, host Jon Stewart issued an apology.
“To set the record straight, I did vote today, I did know where my booth was. I was being flip, and it kind of took off,” Stewart said.
Stewart said on Tuesday that he had not voted, telling CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that he had “just moved” and couldn’t reach his nearest polling station.
On his show that evening, Stewart explained he was only kidding.
“I want to apologize, because I shouldn’t have been flip about that,” he said. “Because I think I wasn’t clear enough that I was kidding, and it sent a message that I didn’t think voting was important or that I didn’t think it was a big issue.”
“I did vote, and I was being flip and I shouldn’t have done that, that was stupid,” the host said. “So, I apologize.”

…anyone believe that?
Fuck you Jon Stewart. It was your “both sides do it” false equivalency that helped Republicans win in 2010, and your bashing of Democrats that helped Republicans win AGAIN! I’m through with you AND Bill Maher, both of you are politically stupid!
Yeah, pretty much. They’re funny guys who are kind of assholes, but they too often mistakenly think that being an asshole is what makes them funny, and so in their lazy unthinking moments fall back into that.
As if this is all a joke.
Mr Stewart I see when you said it you thought it was funny, but that little thing could feedback nipped you in the but eh?
Y’know what, Jon?
Wasn’t very funny. That’s like, 4chan level trolling. When you’re worth over $80 million and you rake in $25 million a year on top of that, I guess it does seem funny to piss on people who crawl across broken glass and piss blood to exercise the right to vote.
Probably be a long while before I can watch you again without vomiting. Maybe after the 2016 election, when you don’t spend the entire year running up to it finding ways to throw shit at the Dems while ignoring the outright evil being perpetrated by the Republicans.
C’ya then. Maybe. If I can be bothered to remember you by then.
