Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said that professor Christine Blasey Ford is “willing to come forward and tell her story and we should listen to her,” regarding her sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
He told Milwaukee radio station WTMJ Monday that it would be “appropriate” for the committee to listen to both Ford and Kavanaugh, and that he’s “not really sure where this goes from here.”
Johnson does not sit on the committee, but his desire to hear the two testify instead of ignoring the allegation and pushing ahead with the confirmation vote is notable, as he is usually a safe Republican vote.
