Republican presidential candidate and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a practicing Catholic, said on Tuesday that he was “not surprised” by Pope Francis allowing priests to forgive women who had abortions.
The Vatican announced Tuesday that Pope Francis would allow Roman Catholic priests to absolve women who seek forgiveness for an abortion with a “sincere heart.”
In an interview with Fox New’s “America’s Newsroom” on Tuesday, Bush said he was “not surprised” by the pope’s decision.
“Look I think we can use a lot of mercy in this world,” Bush said. “I’m not surprised at all, but I hope we also focus on mercy of unborn. I think we need to have a society that protects life from the beginning and end. Mercy should be at the heart of everything you do.”
Jeb!, When you’re in the party which wants to return children to active war zones to be shot to death by drug gangs, you can’t really talk about mercy. Heck, you can’t even talk about respecting life when you want to make illegal a procedure which is often needed to save a life, and don’t want to provide birth control, prenatal care, or food stamps to the living.
You aren’t about mercy. You’re about death. All you believe in is ‘life’ for the unborn and death for the living.
Jeb! is “low energy” and is simply Poped out.
I like what you did there!
If you don’t like the idea of abortion then don’t get one. Don’t tell everyone else they have to feel the same as you about it.
“Mercy should be at the heart of everything you do.”
“And if it’s not, well, it doesn’t matter, because we’re just going to write the laws to make sure you obey whatever we say. God gave you free will. Man gave us religion and government to take it away. Amen.”
