Hillary Clinton’s read on the Mississippi Senate race is this: “expand your base.”
The former secretary of State on Monday reportedly weighed in on the outcome of the bloody Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Mississippi where incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) defeated state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) in a runoff election. Cochran, after the primary went to a runoff, sought out the support of Democratic and black voters.
Hillary says Cochran Sen runoff was of “major historical importance because the Republican Party of Mississippi expanded its base.”

Hillary on #MSSen, salting the Tea Party’s wound: “There’s a lesson in there. Expand your base. Get out of your comfort zone.”

McDaniel has yet to concede the race and has claimed that Cochran won due to “illegal” votes.
