Twitter users skewered Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Tuesday after he unfavorably compared the Obama administration’s transgender bathroom accommodations to the moon landing under former President John F. Kennedy.

The White House sent a letter last week to public schools across the country directing them to allow transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice.
Conservatives railed against Obama’s letter, including Abbott, who said that the President was “trying to cram down as many parts of his liberal agenda on the United States of America as he possibly can.”
