Google Plus For Android Updated With Community Management

Google released an update to its Google Plus for Android app late Wednedsay. The 3.5 update includes support for managers of Google Plus’s new “Communities” feature, launched in December 2012 — topical pages where users interested in the same things can share content and comments. The updated Android app gives Community moderators the ability to promote or ban users from Communities, as well as add links to new posts.

Google is attempting to draw more users to its social networking product with these updates. The company reported some success in December, with 135 million users active on the main Google Plus stream, but that number pales in comparison to Facebook’s 1.06 billion users announced Wednesday, and is also well behind Twitter’s 200 million active users.
