Google on Monday announced the launch of what it calls a new “umbrella” effort to coordinate all of the company’s monetary and technological support for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses under one label: “Google for Entrepreneurs.”
Google’s head of entrepreneurship outreach, Mary Grove, explained in an official blog post that the new program would focus on three areas:
1. Partnerships with strong organizations that serve entrepreneurs in local communities
2. Google-led programs to bring our teams and our tools directly to entrepreneurs
3. Placing relevant Google tools in the hands of startups as they are getting off the ground and ready to scale
The new effort has actually already been active for the past two weeks, including at Startup Weekend in San Francisco this past weekend. Grove and various Google executives are also set to host events to promote Google For Entrepreneurs in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, September 25, in Sydney, Australia on October 8, as well as Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Boston, Massachusetts, and Gurgaon, India.
