Glenn Beck likened Muslims who don’t speak out against the Islamic State to abused spouses during a Wednesday appearance on the Fox News show “The Kelly File.”

“I think, quite honestly, there are millions of Muslims that are behaving very consistently as an abused spouse would,” Beck said. “We had them testify in Congress, ‘Help us, help us, you understand who they are, help us,’ but now they’re not saying anything because they’ll be beheaded.”

Beck also said Americans need to better understand the Islamic religion and the history of the Middle East before starting another war.

“Here is the biggest danger to America: an uneducated citizenry,” Beck said. “We are going off the rails because we don’t know our own history. … The West has played a role here, but we can correct it if we understand the history of the Middle East.”

He said the U.S. must “stop messing with dictators” and meddling in the lives of other people.

“We haven’t learned the lesson,” Beck said. “We don’t even know what they’re fighting about.”

Holy crap, I agree with Glenn Beck about something?!

  2. An incredibly awkward analogy, but I guess if you liken the situation to where you are concerned that your spouse is going to kill you for speaking up, I can see where Glenn was going.
Except these aren’t spouses, so it would be more like Christians speaking out when other (purported) Christians misbehave. Say, protesting at a military funeral? Or saying they don’t want refugee children detained in their town?

Boy the crazy, loser gravy train just keeps chugging down the track with the same old rusty cars screeching and rattling along the way. They keep saying the Mittens Club Car is packed but all I see are lights in the windows…

  4. You know what? I agree with everything that Glenn’s quoted as saying in this article. Stopped clock, I guess.

  5. The big problem is- he’s part of why America has an uneducated citizenry. He’s been hawking these books by an “Historian” who has literally admitted to making it up as he goes along and pushing all sorts of fake learning. If he really believed this, he’d disavow everything he’s done so far in the name of his god Money and start trying to rectify the damage.
