After ABC’s George Stephanopoulos confronted Republican Donald Trump about releasing his tax returns, Trump chalked the scrutiny up to the “Good Morning America” host’s ties to the Clintons.
Stephanopoulos, a former staffer in Bill Clinton’s administration, asked Trump what his tax rate rate is, to which the billionaire replied, “It’s none of your business.”
“I fight very hard to pay as little tax as possible,” the presumptive GOP nominee allowed, saying the government wastes citizens’ tax dollars. “I consider it an expense.”
The ABC anchor pressed on, reminding Trump he hadn’t kept earlier promises to release his returns after President Obama released his birth certificate and Hillary Clinton released her State Department emails.
But Trump challenged Stephanopoulos’ version of events, saying “plenty” of Clinton’s emails are still missing.
“I know she’s a good friend of yours, and I know you worked for her and you didn’t reveal it,” Trump fired back. “There are emails missing all over the place, the whole thing is a scam.”
Stephanopoulos came under fire for not disclosing a $75,000 contribution to the Clinton Foundation while he was covering the Clintons for ABC News.

Buried the lede, guys. It should have been “Trump Says Voters Don’t Need to See His Tax Returns”
Alternately, it could have been “Trump: My Tax Rate Is None Of Your Business”
Disqualifying. He should be asked straight out: what are you hiding? If he still refuses, Democrats (outside the campaign) should not hesitate to speculate, quite justifiably, about what he is hiding, and to make a meme of it–why not, after all? The only question is, which speculation would be most damaging? Suggestions please.
Already happening.
Speaking of Hillary’s emails…when are we going to see Trump’s emails? Why isn’t the media bringing this up every time he deflects? Can you imagine the racist images/“jokes” he’s receiving and forwarding?
Buried the lede, guys. The lede is “Stephanopoulos Commits Journalism!” He was well prepared and didn’t let it go or let the personal attacks deflect him. I was all like “who is this guy and what has he done with George Stephanopoulos?”
And, btw, after this interview, “criminal fraud” climbed all the way to the top, above “paid no tax” and “not actually a billionaire” on the “What’s Trump Hiding” odds-board. One now wonders if the whole point of his run is a desperate attempt to stay out of jail.
