Forty percent of voters would support the impeachment of President Donald Trump, up from 35 percent who favored impeachment a week ago, according to a survey released Thursday by the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling.

According to PPP’s poll, only 48 percent of voters opposed impeaching Donald Trump, while 12 percent were undecided.

Trump entered office with historically low approval ratings. Trump’s net approval rating dropped 8 points during his first week in office, according to a Gallup tracking poll.

PPP surveyed 725 registered voters between Jan. 30 and 31. The poll had a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
