Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, on Sunday slammed the House Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi attack as “ridiculous.”

“I think it’s a hunting mission for a lynch mob, actually. I think that’s what’s going on,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Feinstein said that Congress has generated numerous reports and conducted multiple investigations into the attack and the way the administration handled the aftermath. She then compared the Benghazi attack to the bombing of the U.S. embassy in Beirut, Lebanon while Ronald Reagan was president.

The senator said that Congress knows everything they need to know about Benghazi, though she conceded that the Obama administration was not prepared for the attack.

“There were faults. The intelligence was there. Actions should have been taken,” she said.
